5 Things to do in Manchester After Visiting Campus

We consider the city of Manchester an extension of our campus. Our students get involved through internships, research opportunities, service learning, partnerships, and much more. The city also provides great opportunities for entertainment, art, culture, and recreation.

If you are visiting campus, consider sticking around and see what Manchester has to offer. So, grab a coffee in the Wildcat Cafe and set-off to explore the city while you're here!  

1. See a show at the Palace Theatre in downtown ManchesterPalace Theatre
A 13 minute walk from campus, or .6 miles, the Palace Theatre is a non-profit performing arts center that hosts its own professional company, youth and teen program and presenting acts. A bonus for students -- each production in the Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series has RUSH (discounted) tickets available to students one hour prior to each performance. Students must present a valid student ID upon purchase.

2. Climb the walls at Vertical Dreams
Located a few doors down from our campus, Vertical Dreams has the tallest climbing wall for top roping, lead climbing, bouldering, and routes for all abilities.

3. Visit the Currier Museum of ArtCurrier Museum of Art
The Currier is an internationally renowned art museum located in Manchester. The Currier features European and American paintings, decorative arts, photographs and sculpture, including works by Picasso, Monet, O'Keeffe, Wyeth, and LeWitt with exhibitions, tours, and programs year-round.

4. Take a walk and stretch your legs
Explore downtown Manchester and the millyard on foot and experience for yourself what the city has to offer. There are so many options for entertainment, dining, sports, and culture all within walking distance of our campus.

5. SEE Science Center
Located within walking distance, the SEE Science Center is a hands-on exhibit center featuring topics such as: forces, light, sound electricity, simple machines and more. They are also home to the LEGO® Millyard Project, an impressive LEGO® replica of Manchester’s millyard.
