High school juniors and seniors with an unending passion to learn the skills needed to create a successful technology startup business have a unique opportunity to participate in a free, 16-week Technology Start-Up Boot Camp at the University of New Hampshire at Manchester. The college is hosting an information session for the program on Wednesday, November 20 at 6pm.
The Technology Start-Up Boot Camp, offered by Tom “TK” Kuegler, co-founder and general partner of Wasabi Ventures, is a new program offered in UNH Manchester’s STEM Discovery Lab. The boot camp is a hands-on program for prospective entrepreneurs on the fundamental skills needed to create a successful technology start-up business. The classes will begin January 15 and will be held once-per-week in the UNH STEM Discovery Lab through May 21, 2014.
Sessions will be taught by successful technology business founders and entrepreneurs who will bring real-world experience to the classroom. Students in the 11th or 12th grade from public and private schools are eligible for the program.
Programming, engineering, or technology experience is not a prerequisite for inclusion into the program however passion and a willingness to learn are essential. Culmination of the class will be a Demo Day held at UNH Manchester where the entire New Hampshire start-up community will be invited to come to hear the students present their business ideas and plans.
The ultimate goal for all students participating in the Technology Start-up Boot Camp is to be selected for the Wasabi Ventures sponsored program and to begin building a start-up.
