Kim DeRego will join the UNH Manchester community on Monday as associate dean for enrollment management. DeRego will be the primary strategist for enrollment management activities, providing leadership and overall direction in enrollment planning, recruitment, admissions processing, registration, financial aid, marketing and enterprise management.

"Kim brings a strong understanding of comprehensive student enrollment and retention to her work at the college," said J. Michael Hickey, interim dean at UNH Manchester. "Her efforts, and those of her team, will be fully aligned with the strategic direction and support we receive from the Enrollment Management organization in Durham.”

A native of Santa Cruz, Calif., DeRego has more than a decade of experience in admissions and enrollment management. For the past four years, she served as associate dean for enrollment management at SIT Graduate Institute where she oversaw the school’s admissions, recruiting and financial aid teams while co-leading the school’s marketing efforts. DeRego was instrumental for her leadership on many campus-wide initiatives, including the adoption and rollout of Salesforce as SIT’s enrollment management platform. In addition to spearheading digitally driven and innovative enrollment strategy at SIT, she led several student-centered partnerships with external institutions.

“We are all so impressed with Kim’s talents and expertise," said Victoria Dutcher, UNH's vice president for enrollment management. "Our colleagues in Manchester will benefit tremendously from her leadership in enrollment management, and we know she will contribute to success throughout the University.”

Before assuming her most recent leadership role at SIT, DeRego served as SIT Graduate Institute’s director of admissions and, before that, as director of admissions for The Experiment in International Living, where she worked for more than five years. As a recruiter for The Experiment, she visited more than 200 U.S. high schools nationwide annually, and she also led Experiment programs to Ireland and Northern Ireland.

DeRego holds a bachelor of arts in history from Santa Clara University and a master’s in international relations from American University.

"UNH Manchester is uniquely positioned to fill the higher educational needs of central New Hampshire at a time when students and their families are looking for excellence and value in their university experience," DeRego said. "I am looking forward to working with students, staff and faculty at UNH and am honored to be selected for the position."
