UNH Manchester and the Ultimate Frisbee Club kicked off the month of August with a charity tournament. Five teams, ten games and one championship, the players were ready to break a sweat and throw some Frisbees.
Going for the gold, the green team came out on top while the yellow team came in second. Other teams didn’t leave empty handed, however. The blue team received the Most Spirited award and some much needed candy after a full day of games. T-shirts were also given to all that participated, too!
Even though players were split into teams, the atmosphere was friendly and fun. Competitions were held during lunch and consisted of games like farthest toss, who could catch the most Frisbees and who could catch their own throw.
Do you want to know one of the best things to come out of the tournament? The knowledge that pickle juice helps get rid of sports cramps! Some players questioned the amount of pickles that were present at the food table, but after a while, all players were praising the perfect cure that is pickle juice.
Another great result for this tournament is that it raised over $1,500. All of the proceeds collected go to Liberty House: A Veteran’s Transitional House. In fact, we are still accepting donations! If you would like to donate, please click here.
