Moving Toward Equitable, Accessible, and Relevant Mathematics for All

Professor Lauren Provost published a book review entitled "Moving Toward Equitable, Accessible, and Relevant Mathematics for All in the Journal Democracy & Education".

Dr. Lauren Elizabeth Provost is the Research Assistant Professor at the STEM Discovery Lab at the University of New Hampshire, Manchester. Her professional interests include STEM education and policy, quantitative methodology and volunteerism. 

Provost is currently on the Massachusetts Department of Education’s STEM Advisory Council. She is also the Southern Regional Coordinator for the New Hampshire Teacher of Mathematics Association.

Provost serves as the STEM liaison between the New Hampshire Institutes of Higher Education and New Hampshire Society for Technology in Education, facilitating collaboration of technology initiatives at the state level. She also serves as the Higher Education Representative for the New Hampshire Science Teachers Association. Provost's main passion encompasses equity and STEM pathways, concerns she addresses in her role as Public Policy Committee member for the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity.

 In all her work, she is an advocate for equity and excellence in education for all students.

Provost focuses on building and carrying out the research agenda for the Lab, establishing resources for the long-term sustainability and evaluation of Lab programming.

Example programs provided through Lauren Provost:
STEM Ambassadors, a year-long program on-site at Manchester School District’s Memorial and Central High Schools for academically at-risk, ELL students in grade 10 that builds and supports STEM pathways for talent traditionally underrepresented in the STEM fields.
